As you begin your teacher preparation, it is essential that you review and evaluate your personal beliefs about teaching because these beliefs will provide the foundation for activities throughout the Teacher Education Program. Exactly what are informed beliefs about teaching? Basically, they are beliefs about children, their education, and the role of the teacher and the school in that education. These beliefs are based on experiences both in and out of the educational system. Informed beliefs about teaching differ from educator to educator. As such, there is no such things as correct or incorrect beliefs.

For this entry of your professional portfolio, complete the statements listed below. Remember, there are no right or wrong responses. As you progress through the Teacher Education Program, you will continue to review your informed beliefs about teaching and make adjustments and additions as you develop as a teacher.
